The International Star Registry? It is a "fun" little "novelty" that actually borders on a fraudulent hoax. The fact that they register it with the US Patent Office, "securing the name forever," should be a huge clue. The USPO is not in the buisness of collecting, registering and maintaining starcharts or their names. The ISR additionally does not have any authority to name stars for or on behalf of anyone.
That authority rests with the IAU and they are not in the buisness of naming stars for people and do NOT recognise the ISR.
