How would Quebec get a hold of Albertans' tax dollars? Bus stops in Montreal are the responsibility of the STM, a municipal business. If you could explain your comment, I'd really appreciate it. TIA

"How would Quebec get a hold of Albertas tax dollars"? Quebec has received over 50 percent of all 'equalization' payments since the plans inception. Over the last few years they've undercharged for services to keep their revenue low enough to qualify for other provinces to keep providing the quality of life Quebecers feel entitled to. Meanwhile when supposed "have" provinces go through economic recessions, like Alberta over the last two years, the demand for subsidized social programs from the East hasn't waned; they've not taken their foot off our neck despite Alberta sending billions of dollars for decades.
What's worse is the average québécois is not aware their comfortable existence is at the expense of total strangers, or if they are they feel entitled to it; but living in the voting base has its advantages.
I'm sorry but I'm still a bit confused. Did Quebec get 50% of those payments directly from Alberta, or from the federal government as a whole? Where can I find this information? I'm very interested to see the stats and learn more. TIA
I just find it odd how Albertans would agree (particularly during a recession) to directly fund Quebec's initiatives (particularly musical bus stops). I can imagine there would be many protests, yet I haven't heard of any in the news.
You put that here in southern California, in two days the swings are missing or broken by the chains, there's tagging everywhere, and its covered in trash.
