I used to work at a Spanish Tapas restaurant (in England) and for the most part, I said the names of the dishes with confidence and with a spanish accent because the English people had no clue I was saying most of them in a dodgy way. UNTIL...I served tables that were quite clearly Spanish or Hispanic and I would meekly say the dishes in English for fear of getting that look of 'you have no idea what you're doing do you' :D

I dunno about the good guy status. It seems rude to be the one who always corrects others or does it for them in advance knowing that they MUST be inferior to him as far as knowing how to pronounce things.
