But usually you have to pay ass tons of money to hunt an animal and it's almost always a "problem" animal like a rhino that's attacking anything it sees and is a danger to itself and other animals.
Rhinos aren't actually that aggressive unless provoked, like most animals, even then it's not big enough of a threat to hunt, Rhino's are also endangered

It was just an example. It also goes for animals that have diseases that can't really be cured so they get put out of their misery.
There's a great episode of Adam Ruins Everything about animals. He talks about how hunting endangered animals can actually be beneficial when properly controlled and then the funds are used in those countries to maintain and build protected wild life habitats for said endangered species. Killing one old or diseased lions can benefit the whole herd and promote growth. It sucks but legal hunting is a necessary evil. -M
Sorry, but @grimreaper is right. The money spent to get the hunting permit is used towards the conservation. They only allow 'problem' animals to be hunted. Example: a lone male lion is killing cubs, doesn't help the species much, so they allow that lion to be hunted.
.
Personally, I don't like hunting animals for sport. Unless you're going to eat it, don't kill it.
Hm that makes sense, I just hate the whole idea because my morals are so solid when it comes to protecting animals but if it's beneficial I understand it's positives. I agree with @dontaskmeidontknow last point though
Couple points I will add in. One question, how do we know this is poaching? Or are we just saying poaching in general is bad?
Also you do realize lions still actively stalk and kill people right? That is why some of these Lion hunts exist is to kill the ones that develop a taste for people. Its the same in the USA and a lot of other places, when an animal, like a cougar or bear, starts to actively stalk humans they will be put down. The other hunts, like mentioned above, are to help the population grow bigger and strong by taking out the old and diseased ones.

Poachers tend to not take pictures of themselves poaching, kind of like how murderers don't video themselves murdering people.
More like poaching is bad in general imo, I just don't like the idea of taking a dead animal as a prize. I'm learning lots about poaching and stuff this is good
The problem with big game hunters like this is they're not often very good hunters...they pay to have somebody hold their hand and it's not always a fair hunt. Thus, an idiot who sits in the middle of lion territory for a photo op. Let me know when you've stalked a lion for days with no guide and killed it alone with a spear, then I'll be impressed.
