if you ask such a question, you're basicly not a hacker / developer. we developers often see problems, and WANT to fix / solve them, wayne how / how long it takes (it's like a challenge for us). if i would have a coding problem, i would work trough the whole weekend, wayne if it's my free time or not.. and often you really NEED to do that because otherwise your boss / clients get angry if something is not working. most people don't understand that some things need time to get done.. specialy if you develope / fixing something. and because this, people often work on problems on their freetime to solve it. you can't come just early to work and work on it, because you often need to invest endless hours into something.. like 10 hours & a lot of more. so you can't go early from work & come 10 hours or more early to work.. ^^
"I have had a grand total of FOUR hours of sleep since you saw me last on Friday. I've been slavishly fixing code, unpaid, over the weekend to ensure that a customer remains happy and you can steal the credit for it at the next meeting to keep your position secure. DON'T TRY ME."

If I get a warning, I file a complaint with HR about competent leadership and start looking for a new position somewhere else.
This Boss is exhibiting all the classic signs of incompetent leadership. Shouting, posture and a complete lack of an attempt understand the situatuon.
