This is why it's important to throughly clean out your dryer. It's a fire hazard when it gets like this. My dryer was was taking longer and longer to dry my clothes, opened it up and got massive amount of lint out the the dryer and duct. Before it was taking two full cycles to dry now it was just talking a half cycle.

How do you not clean the trap before every use?

OK, I might be wrong, but from my experience with front loaders, those are on pedestals. The pedestals usually function as a drawer. So this appears to me like an over stuffed drawer.
