Fun fact: not understanding Karl Marx doesn't prove him wrong. You can't blame him for not predicting post-capitalism. It's also helping the meme, that the premise is just dumb. Why would someone pay much more for something when he can get it cheaper? Oh, forgot Apple. He didn't predict meta-capitalism either.
I agree that's why McDonald's is going to fail why would any one pay 5 dollars for a burger when he can get a burger for like two dollar from one of those trucks that drive to construction sights or make one at home for like one dollar. Just you wait, you capital pigs will see socialism will work some day.

McDonalds is not selling burgers, that's why it's post capitalism. It's not goods or service, it's a "way of life" and it works because for so many people, their life is not about what they can imagine and achieve, but what they can buy. Which is pretty much what Marx analyzed 100 years ago. Ironically capitalism learned a lot from Marx and adjusted the capitalist system in a way it became more attractive to the masses than oldschool Manchester capitalism.
