Filament was probably loose and making intermittent contact and the vibration of the bird landing shifted it into full contact. Thanks bird!

It looks like it's dusk as well so the birds shadow could've been just enough to trigger the photosensor, has happened to my dusk to dawn light before but in my particular case it was a hawk sitting on the light not a winged pest.
