No, it's not. Just because you have the number, for your country, memorized doesn't mean everyone does. And someone who is in a really bad way isn't likely to search for the number, but it popping up in places like this might give them the push they need to make the call.
There are childline posters around every corridor of my school. I don’t think it’ll be very hard for someone to come across one, just because someone posted a number doesn’t guarantee every person will call.
Wow, I’m sorry if an former depression victim feels the need to post an childline number to an post doesnt share your opinion with you. It’s common knowledge for people at my school. You don’t even need to call, childline has a website which you could easily email them. Don’t use that tone. This is settled now, at least someone will be able to see this post and call if they need.
So you are a child I guess from your previous posts. It's not like everyone here still goes to school... the world out there won't care a bit if you're sad. People DO need this.
Here's an idea. Given the global level of connectivity we have now and enjoy with our mobile lifestyle, I'd like to see an initiative where telecom companies partner to create a network where they are able to establish a Suicide & Crisis number that is the same, no matter where you are and works globally.
Let the computer network switching figure out for you where and who to connect you to.
