The fact that hair grows back has absolutely nothing to do with the situation. If a child did this to another child, it would be considered bullying, so what makes it ok for an adult to do the same thing to a child? If anything, it's worse because adults are supposed to be role models for children.
As someone who was tied down to a chair for nearly a decade and forced to have my head shaved every time my hair grew more than an inch, I can most certainly say that it has negative effects to say the least.
...If that was supposed to say beast then you are fucked up almost as bad as I am. At least I've never advocated child abuse AND racism in one sentence.
He could have pierced his ear himself. And as a parent who is mostly incharge of discipline I can say that a kid will indeed just stand there and take punishment. Child abuse seems a strong term but it's exactly what shaming is. Shaming a kid with a bad haircut (for whatever reason) is an "attack" on the child rather than their behavior. And this kids parent posted it to social media making it public for everyone to see which is no doubt very embarrassing.
This is a punishment that isn't just going to stay at home. This kid has to go to school and we all know kids can be vicious. As a parent I feel it's wrong for parents to shame their kids like this. If the kid wasn't crying it might be a little funny but he's obviously very upset and his parents aren't being sensitive to that. Children respect those who respect them. Shaming, while maybe effective, is disrespectful and may cause the child to resent you.
