But stone isn't halfway it is literally part of the imperial weight system which Americans use anyway.

Yeah I know, but they also use meters and liters and stuff, they have this weird mix of the two

Yeah, for me anything enforced is metric e.g. litres of petrol and cm is definitely easier for measuring for craft projects and the like but otherwise I use imperial, probably because that's what my parents used so I'm still part of the switchover generations.

I don't get why stone is so weird to Americans who use imperial anyway. We only tend to use 'pounds' for people when they're babies so Americans (or anyone else) who say something like "They weigh 147lbs" always remind me of parents who say their child is 36 months or whatever.

Everyone uses the metric system anyway, since imperial units are based on metric value based on metric constants
