There should be a show about a kid named Tommy who almost dies in every episode and when Reaper comes for him. He, just in that moment survives the thing.

Could have a vampire come in to give him the immortality. Then Tommy is the one following Death, telling him he is doing it wrong and everything.

Vampires are just biologically immortal. They don't age past a certain point. They can still die through disease or injury.
