You net neutrality buffoons do realize that this only went into effect in 2015? Remember all of those horrible DECADES when it wasn't? No? Because all it really does is help the Federal Government regulate more of your life.
It prevents ISP's from creating their dream monopoly and being able to dictate internet costs and bills by preventing you from accessing certain parts of it unless you pay up to 5x the cost to visit/access sites like Netflix, YouTube, Twitter, like in many parts of the world where they don't have Net Neutrality. Considering some of these services also supply cable for television, it would make it impossible for competition mediawise to happen. If Net Neutrality is dissolved, it would lift any sort of repercussion for controlling, monopolizing, and exploitative behavior from corporations and companies who supply the internet. The water company doesn't get to dictate how you use your water, just that you get the water with no issue. It should be the same for the Internet. -TarotNathers13th
The telecoms are the ones who physically built the Internet infrastructure, why are they not allowed to use it as they see fit? If they strangle traffic, alternatives would pop up. You have the freedom to not use their services. You can get by without the Internet. It is possible to live your life without it. Plus, people are acting like it's a pillar of our way of life, set up by Washington, Jefferson, Madison, et al at the founding of our nation.
The thing is, by the day it becomes more and more impossible to not use the internet. More and more job applications are online, I've gone to multiple places where the only way to apply was through their site. My school is online. I talk to friends, family, and my boyfriend with the internet. Yeah I can get by without the internet if get by means survival. I can also survive without electricity, but I wouldn't be able to live well in the modern age. I wouldn't be able to get a job or education.
Its become a staple of modern life to the point there's not much you can achieve without it. To strangle the wallets of your users just to line your pockets when your product is basically a necessity is wrong.

We can also live without eating meat or animal products, but you imagine how fucking hard that would be?
So you're willing to regulate the crap out of the physical operators of the net for something they "might"do. Welcome to the Future Crimes Department! Do you feel the same way about companies such as Apple, Amazon, Micro$oft and Google? They sure as hell are limiting/spying on your activities on the Web but no one seems to bitch about them.
Its not something they " might " do. Its something they've been doing and something they've said they'd do. And yeah it sucks those companies are spying on us but so are the internet companies, and you're willing to just let them decide what we can and can't see?
The telecoms that the guest states built the infrastructure for the Internet is not taking into account the fact that much of it was paid for by taxes (at least in the US). The phone landline system was heavily supported by government grants to expedite the coast to coast telephone systems. Many of the USA's electric companies used government grants for land purchases and building the electric grids. There's a shit ton of money poured into a lot of companies . General Electric rarely payes any taxes. Exon Mobile gets money and tax brakes for surveying new oil fields and new research. The list goes on and on. Farmers paid not to grow crops. I think most people don't mind paying into advancing everyone. It is when many suffer for the wealth of a few that people start getting truly upset.
