I mean there isn't much of a difference between being unconscious, dead or sleeping.... I always fear that someone who's sleeping might actually need help.. but then i fear the social repercussions of waking someone up
If you were knocked unconscious you probably won't be able to be woken up easily, and if she hit her head she could have a concussion which means she shouldn't be asleep ?
And what parents see their kid asleep in the middle of the kitchen floor ( and we're assuming they're not like a toddler in the story ) and not try to wake them up ?

Bad ones. My step dad once mistook me crying as me laughing. And I have a very distinctive laugh.
I know it's not a parent story but that reminded me of the first time my boyfriend was with me when I had a panic attack and he thought I was joking at first and was laughing at me. It didn't take him that long to realize I wasn't joking.
