Meh. It's not necessarily ideal but it ends up there anyway. Colonizing worlds could unlock great doors for humanity, but there's no reason to think it would change our way of life drastically, especially not for likely thousands of years. Many places (like America) were once "new worlds" of uncharted lands, unknown creatures, resources, and no central government of authority. Looking at our history we simply took the old ways with us by and large. Fast forward a few hundred years and most of the world is different, but not so different. Free travel and information coupled with economy of scale and consolidated industry tends to create homogeneous environments. In the near future life on a colonized mars wouldn't be that different once you stripped away the nevcesities of the climate. Where there is money to be made corporations will eventually take stake. A mars colony would just be another emerging market. The real difference would be would the funding company have legal governance?

I don't care how we do it, just as long as humans get better at doing shit we should've done a long time ago.
