And was paid to sleep shop and go poop. So she weighed a guaranteed 30 hour payout over 6 days in a hotel suite vs having to slum it and try to score 30 1 hour tricks over a six day period. She knew what she was doing.
That makes all kind of assumptions. First that she's working 24hrs a day without rest. Next that every hour she is "working" she actually gets paid. That the $100/hr "work" is the exact same as she would make with the $3k. A better more reasonable estimate would be that she probably works 12+ hrs a day but only pulls in 6-8hrs of "work". Now that is $3,600-$4,800 for the same time period so she would make more but it doesn't account for the days where she may only pull 2hrs of "work" instead of 6-8hrs. Taking into account the rather high class room and board plus the clothes and jewelry and generally much safer environment; I'd have to say that $3k is a much better deal. There are more reason still but it's more involved than I'm willing to go into right now.
I think it’s a decent deal because of the above comments, but at the end of the day 24/7 availability is still there so if she was only working 8hours a day then should should have been asking for overtime
If I remember correctly there was an alternate ending originally. He didn't show up and she went back to the street. But it was a Touchstone/Disney picture and they threw it out and he came up in his limo with flowers instead.
Making a prostitute into Cindarella is kind of a shitty plot. I know it's just a movie , but still think its not a good thing for impressionable young girls to see. I used to work in Deteoit and I use to think it was funny watching all the "working girls" hide/run from the cops, I saw a some crazy stuff, it wasn't untill I saw a girl/child around 10 or 11 years old that it wasn't funny anymore. I started considering the way the girls end up in that situation and it is heartbreaking. Just a movie I liked when it first came out, my perspective has change a lot .
