This might be a bit of a silly question... but why was Arnold so popular in body building? If it’s meant to be about symmetry wouldn’t he be bad, considering his core isn’t defined/symmetrical?

A lot of it came down to personality. He was charismatic and knew how to play the judges and the audience. The movie "Pumping Iron" also shows that he was a massive asshole, especially to Lou Ferrigno.

Also, while he may only have a 4-pack, he compensated for it with chest and biceps
