90 million miles is no where close to a safe distance from a star if something goes wrong. Solar should have been in widespread use before 1980. Too much money in oil and conversion cost that would have to have been paid upfront. Greed , laziness and stupity should have been on Stephen Hawking's fear list of human extinction. I hauled a few of the AV1 electric cars in 2001-2002 after the lease was up. There was a program call GM Killed the Electric car. People that leased those loved them, could not extend the lease or purchase the cars. Might be on Netflix. Shame. 1970s the Chevrolet Chevet and Volkswagen Rabbit were getting around 40 mpg.
