When I am tasked to extend a file, then I end up replacing it

Winner of "not my fucking job" award goes to...

Probably has to do with the clock behind it being an "automatic" clock that calibrates itself. My college has them and they are very often broken or not working properly. Someone probably just got sick of a broken clock.
