Nah, I’ve moved cities enough times with no money to know that it’s fear of having nothing more than anything

In that sense aren’t most people afraid of having nothing? To have nothing in this world as we know it would be to die. Those with responsibility to care for others like a family do very likely care of their family dies or suffers by their choice. I also might say that what works for 1, what works for 2, may not work for a family of 4. All in all I agree that a good deal of people are held in a place they may not rather be by fear of the unknown, fear of having less or being uncomfortable. Fear of a lack of security. But it’s not just fear- and it isn’t fear for everyone. Things like goals are important to consider as well. To people with goals things either help or hurt those goals- being afraid and taking calculated risks isn’t the same thing. It would be like saying someone is chicken for not jumping into a wood chipper while it’s running.

I'd put having goals and wanting to stay in one place to achieve those goals as not wanting to move, and thats fine if youre happy in one place. What I'm talking about is people that want to move, but don't because they're scared of failing.

I can again somewhat agree. Fear of failure is another one of those fundamentals. In the way that if one has responsibilities like people relying on them, to fail is to let those people down, especially children or those unable to self care. It’s easier to find a ride for 1, a place to crash for 1, food for 1, than for 3-4 or more. So in that sense those people may be afraid- or they may have calculated risk to possible reward and determined it’s not a good bet. That would be fear of failure in the same way that I don’t spend $1 on the lottery. If I don’t play, I can’t win, but I don’t lose either. But yeah. Some people have no reason holding them from their dreams but fear.
