Does he want to be famous. Legit question, does he want to be recognized for what he's done. Because, from what I've seen, being well-known after a traumatic event like this tends to attract crazies as well, people who harass and belittle you over what you've been through.
I don't get the hate that Hogg gets sometimes. Is it because they disagree with his politics? I mean, I can't say I'd do the same in his shoes but I've never been there and hope that I never am.
I'm not saying I don't feel horrible the students including Emma and David. My feelings of distain for David are from when he was talking about adults and how they are stupid if they can't turn on an iPhone I feel like he could have gotten his point across in a much kinder way and I guess being polite and kind are some of my biggest values so i guess when that was one of the first things I saw of him it did give me a bad impression. But in all I can never really have a real opinion on him unless I meet him in real life.
(Edit: im deleting my original comment because don't agree with how I worded it and after reading it back I don't agree with some of the things i said and in all this should be an uplifting post not a political debate)
I’m not sure what you’re talking about with the iPhone quote but at this point being polite and saying “please make sure this doesn’t happen again” isn’t going to work. I’m from south Florida, I was at a conference with students from MSD where we had a family member of a Columbine victim come and tell us her story and the story of that day. We know what happens, and these kids are doing what they can to make it stop. Also those opposing them are making up horrible stories about these students who have been through so much just so they can make them look worse and less trustworthy.the person who commented above with false information shows that it’s working so I don’t really see the point to going out of your way to be polite to people who are still going to downgrade the things you have gone through just because you want to make sure that no one gets murdered in a school or public place again.
People don't dislike David Hogg for his politics, there are plenty of people on both sides of the gun control debate that can discuss things in a civil manner, they dislike him because he is a foul-mouthed entitled little ass who can only talk about people on the other side of an opinion in the most offensive terms possible. He's not interested in a discussion or a debate, he is only interested in getting his own way 100%.
Hopefully time will mellow his personality, but I doubt it.

Im finished with this debate or whatever it is I don't think it's fair to rag on these kids (even tho I'm a year younger than David Hogg) because like I said I don't know him irl he could be a completely different person but I thought I'd just show proof about the iPhone comment

And here’s an article from a girl who tried to be be nice to that monster that killed 17 people and says there is nothing that untrained students could have done to stop him. Professionals should have stepped in and that is who would have blood on their hands not innocent students trying to make sure this never happens again.
