This centre for long term ill elders redesigned their elevators to create less anxiety

I think i'd be a little freaked out if the fucking bookcase opened up and there was a metal box and someone told me to get inside it. Either that or I'd think I was in a spy movie

They did something like this to my grandmother's retirement home. They painted the elevator does that took you to the lobby to exit the building like it was part of the wall and placed a curtain in front of it so you had to walk behind the curtain to get the the elevators. I asked why the curtain they say because not all the people there fell for the doors being painted. But the curtains hide it perfectly. Plus it is curtains so in case of emergency they can pull it back to allow easy access to the elevator.
