It says it traps it for a brief period...does that mean until death or just long enough to become friends and workout a blood pact?

Since it say it wants to attract pollinators, my guess would be that is closes for just long enough to get the beetle to walk around and get pollen all over itself...then let it go so it can go pollinate some other plant.
