Actually there is truth and misconception in the stereotype about British vs US teeth. The US populace tends to have “photogenic” teeth- straight, unnaturally white- but one of if not the highest rates of tooth rot. Countries like England and Japan that tend to get lots of attention in jokes for having “messed up teeth” tend to have more crooked and discolored teeth on the whole- but those teeth tend to be healthier, having fewer cavities and rot, with implants, false teeth, and veneers being less common. So while your indignation is supported by fact in that the US tends to prioritize looks over health when it comes to teeth compared to many other countries, your jab at the expense of the many people suffering serious financial and health issues in a broken system is perhaps a bit much.

There is a such thing as overbrushing- but there’s much debate as to what the “best” oral care regiment is. What’s very critical is both that one uses oral care tools that aren’t excessively harsh on enamel or tissue, and that one uses proper technique. If you’re using a system consistently and have healthy teeth/gums and a dentists blessings- you just gotta go with what works.
