I know (bad enough for US-families) ... my parents divorced (20 years ago), and I chose to stay with my dad (bad decision btw)
I am asking about OP's origins because I know that there are many different laws and cultures, especially concerning divorce ( I'm Kraut btw)
German courts of law strictly base their decisions in reality: The most suitable parent will always have to take care of their offspring.
(US laws looks a bit medevial to us eurocunts...)
I wasn't married to her (thankfully) but the lawyer that represented me at my custody hearing said in the 37 years he's practiced law I was the second man he's had as a client to win custody of their child(ren) in a historically women favoring state for custody. The only reason the other guy won custody is because the mother went to jail for allowing a boyfriend to sexually abuse her kids. I only won because my kid's mother was a violent and abusive twat that only wanted to argue with me during the entire case and accuse me of being part of some conspiracy to take her kids away (she's a total nutjob and even the judge told her to get her head checked after ordering her to be silent!)

I wish my husband had ended up in this Dads custody instead of his mum's because she was the same as the wins you described above. Same childhood.
