Actually vets could remove it surgically. I've seen them completely wire, staple, and repair turtle shells who had been hit by cars. This is a painted turtle which actually are freshwater but those drink rings still get caught on sea turtles necks. Plastic bags are also horrible because sea turtles eat a lot of jellyfish and they mistake bags for jellies and choke:(
Wow I can't relieve people pay money to have a vet surgically fix a turtle if it was run over. I can somewhat understand if it was a pet turtle but if ur doin this to a wild turtle I've got one word for you: Sucker
That's why I fucking recycle. All people should. I know sometimes it's hard to find a container when it's far from your home, but it's really worth it. Don't be assholes, people. Start recycling. Now. (Or, at least, throw stuff in bins, not in the sea!)
Yes it is. What's your thoughts, "OH PHOTOSHOP" ? Truth is, this really does happen....if somebody put a rubber band around your leg while you were young and growing, it would have the same effect.

Wouldn't the rubber band break eventually? It isn't the same as plastic.
