Technically don't the movies show why opening a park for people to go visit the dinosaurs is a bad idea? Granted, I'm not sure what else you'd DO with a dinosaur, pouncing on goombas notwithstanding.

Biological weapons, entertainment, MAYBE pets with the smaller species such as Microraptor or Pegomastax.
I feel like all of these fall under the "really bad idea" category. People can't even handle chihuahuas and we're giving them microraptors.
I can see it now though: the nuclear arms race comes to a stand still as people trade in their nukes for Gigantosaur...s? Gigantosauri? Gigantosauruses?
Past experience has shown me politics usually doesn't have much to do with what the *smartest* option would be.
I think we'd be just as well off riding cassowary into battle
It all depends on what they choose to bring back. I'd be all up for shit like mammoths, but I NEVER want to see something like a gastronis on this planet ever again
Imagine an ostrich. You know, those dangerous yet weird looking birds? Take an ostrich, make it a bit larger, give it a much sharper beak and make it a carnivore. There's your gastronis
This is kind of what I'd expect a dodo on steroids to look like. Although it's head seems a bit top-heavy.
Nothing an Australian with a rake and a riot shield couldn't handle though
