I've only seen views on religion when it involves terrorism. But all the religiouos people I've met are super cool...except for my grandmother. She's racist and kinda homophobic.
Sikhism is the most peaceful religion I am knowable of, I don't have a faith but if I did I'd probably choose Sikhism. They believe everyone should be treated equally regardless of gender or sex, they don't like "blind rituals" or following things without reason, they don't care if you're gay cause you're just a soul and as long as you're a good soul everything's all g. And they're colourful!
I don't think you can generalise an entire religion as "fighters", that's usually a personal trait. Like saying all muslims are evil, it's incorrect and cruel to place a label on a group of people when it's a section of messed up individuals using that faith to do wrong.
take two religions and grab a random person from each and put them against each other on a battlefield, if one of them is a sikh, he's likely to win
I think it's an attitude thing
Also during the early stages of Sikhism the entire community was militarised since the religious governments at the time thought they were a threat, and these influences still stand. The Indian army, when it first started was overwhelmingly Sikh, and still has a lot of Sikhs in it. But that's not a bad thing, you can be able to defend the things you love but also be commited to peace and nonviolence.
