More surprised by the fact that I just realized that WW1 began more than 100 years ago.

My great grandfather got drafted into it but got smallpox at boot camp and was in a hospital for the duration so to think that a relative my mother talks about often existed over 100 years ago is weird.

Is that in Vimy? I used to play there as a kid, running up and down the craters. But some parts of the forest are still closed, suspected to contain unexploded bombs.

Hard to say where it is. I've been to Verdun and this is basically what the entire part of the front looks like there.
