Being obese is a danger to your health, I agree.. but if you are really concerned about people's well being then call everyone out. The smokers, addicts, alcoholics, anorexics, people with mental illness, self harmers, etc etc. I do not agree that it is good to promote being unhealthy but it also isn't good to put people down. If you want your overweight friend to lose weight then be there for them and help them on their journey. So many people struggle with their shortcomings because they feel like or they are doing it all alone.
They're ultimately wrong, but it depends on how you are defining healthy as things can be healthy and unhealthy. An example is chemotherapy. It can help get rid of cancer, but it also very negatively affects the body.
I also don't think the debate is whether it's healthy or not. I believe the debate is over whether it should be a personal choice to smoke weed or not.
Fat acceptance is odd. People are only following what feels natural when they eat themselves to death. Your brain's basic plan when presented with food is to eat according to your availability
Do you want to life your way and be happy with that, or live longer and be bored? I get that overweight people spreading the false idea that obesity is OK for everyone is fucking infuriating ; however, if someone overweight knows the repercussions for his/her height and decided he/she does not care at all, well, why not let go? It does not hurt anyone else.
Her body doesn't make me uncomfortable. It makes me feel sad for her because she knows that she is unhealthy and needs to change either her diet, exercise, or both, and refused to because "fat acceptance".
Size 8 will be great! (My Wife used to say when she was a 9) now “Size 12 is doable!” Is what she says. Doc says she needs exercise. Doc is fat shaming.
