I find If I pick up the phone and text, with no expectation of a response, I feel better. And I keep texting, every time I think of them, whether they text me back or not. And I feel better. Maybe they don't have time to answer. Maybe they don't care. Doesn't matter. I feel better knowing that they know I'm thinking of them. Sometimes they text back right away. Sometimes it takes months of texting to get a response. They apologize to me a lot. I tell them it's ok, don't apologize, just letting them know I care makes me feel better. Sometimes they start to feel better, too. Sometimes we get closer, sometimes it stays the same, but always, I feel better. I used to put the phone down. Now, I pick it up.
