When I was about 18 my parents took us to the San Antonio zoo my hometown is just a few hours away.
Anyways. See me and my 2nd oldest brother and my brother born 2 yes after me is in the petting zoo area. And we see a peacock. JUMP on to a little hut than JUMP over the zoo wall to freedom. So we just looked at each other and we agreed that bird was smart enough to escape it deserved it's freedom.
But as we are leaving the zoo we see a man wearing thick leather gloves and holding escape peacock at arm's length. He than says to us after he sees we see him "Murray escaped again. He does this all the time. We just catch him and put him back" So yeah they are so use to the bird escaping they just are like yeah it happen again.
The best part was the look on the peacock it was like a bad guy from a cartoon lol saying "You may have got me this time copper but one day I be a free bird I swear it! Or my name isn't Murray!"
I used to work with penguins they sometimes did this but they never seemed to enjoy it they got really flustered and called to the others and the others would call back and they seemed to prefer it when we put them back in the flock
