Actually, when that happens, all eight planets, and Pluto will be swallowed

No it will not, when the sun expands into a red giant after fusing nearly all its hydrogen fuel, it will consume all the planets up till Mars, though perhaps when it uses all the rest of its fuel and begins producing iron in its core, it will dissipate into a planetary nebula (leaving behind a white dwarf), the outer edges of which MAY reach the outer planets.

actually it will have burned off enough mass the orbits will be perturbed and slowly spiral inwards. Will Pluto make it before the Sun blows off it's "steam" and becomes a husk? Dunno... if not, Pluto is still going to crash into a white dwarf.... unless it gets flung.

oh btw... before it spirals in, it'll spiral outwards... and then kinda come crashing in.
