I took an art class in school, and we were working on painting. We had to pick and/or design what we were going to paint. I had no clue what to paint so I asked for suggestions, and my mom suggested I paint an Acacia tree. So I thought, okay, sure, why not.
Went to the class ready to get started, and I remember asking the teacher for advice on color mixing or something. Next thing I know he won't stop asking me "but WHY are you painting the tree? what does the tree MEAN to you?"
I legitimately had no answer to that, since I figured "it doesn't mean anything to me, it just looks nice, so I thought I'd give it a try," wouldn't go over all that well
