Sure you could find the information, if you knew the right question to ask. Then suppose you do happen to stumble across this knowledge, what do you do with it? Everything you learned in College was probably already in books bti. (before the Internet) and all you had to do was read. So why weren't there more educated people? Just because something exists doesn't mean you know that it exists. And the same thing applies to its accessibility. College courses, or any courses for that matter, take all those disparate sources and tie them together to provide you with as complete an understanding in that subject as you can get. So sure the information is out there but if you don't have the knowledge of what it is, where it is, and how it can be used then you really have nothing.
