I can believe that this method of dealing with some idiot bogan would be applauded by at least some bus-going Australians, since nobody wants to be on the same bus as that kind of person. Besides, memory has a tendency to embellish things, and if there weren't cheers for the hero there were at least jeers for the bogan.

Yeah I mean it's pretty reasonable to expect people to cheer at something like this. Also this story is not that far fetched.
