Idk I mean if you're happy together I wouldn't see it necessarily as a bad thing. Her standards could have been impossibly inrealistically high and by lowering them somewhat she was able to find a good guy that actually exists and wasn't meant to be compared to some imaginary fantasy man of perfection she'd always pictured. You could be the best for her. She just didn't seem to explain that with a lot of tact.

I have very high standards as well, including high standards of myself. Everytime I try to lower them, it feel as though I'm trying to force myself to care for someone I'm neither attracted to nor interested in.
