Your kitty has insanely gigantic ears. He is clearly part bat. 100% adorable, though <3

How come all our parties end in s'mores, pans, and twerking in bed fires?

But it's not intractable. Worldwide, people have been doing great things to get rid of abortion. No one WANTS to be in a situation where abortion is even a discussion, right? Outlawing the procedure will do nothing to slow down the abortion rate. Education and family planning will do it. It makes me sad that so many well-meaning pro-life people are getting so blinded by "winning" that they don't seem to consider the very real moral consequences of a "win."

I'm back, @ilikemoderation. I got confused by your earlier comment because I thought you were saying a fetus meets all criteria of life. I read it again and it looks like you are simply arguing that a human zygote and an adult human are indistinguishable, therefore all abortion is murder. You're entitled to that opinion, of course. If you really think it's murder, you'd want to minimize it, right? Is outlawing it going to help you?
,
I'm glad you agree that other options besides abortion should be pushed. You lose me again at "but it’s not about that. It’s about abortion. Because there are people that want that safety net for their decisions and the consequences that follow them."
,
Are you saying that, because a percentage of women use abortion as birth control, we should do away with the option of abortion in every case across the board no matter what? Can we just find a way to disincentivize that particular behavior? I am a problem solver, and this is obviousa complicated problem.

I walked out of the room to get a snack and [email protected]$&ing Windows restarted to install updates. I was eight or nine unsaved pages in to a paper. I lost it all. That was more than a decade ago, so even on Google docs, I will ctrl-a ctrl-c my entire document every time I pause for a second, basically every few words, until I see it saved successfully.

From Reddit: "This statue depicts Saint Bartholomew, an early Christian martyr who was allegedly skinned alive. If you look closely, that's his dissected skin hanging around him. This stunning statute by Marco d’Agrate from c.1562 is currently on display at Duomo di Milano."

Yep, close! The pee is more of a small 'puh' sound and the emphasis is on the CON.

I mean, it's a proto-human. A fetus actually does not possess traits 6 or 7 from your list, @ilikemideration. A fetus cannot generate offspring. A fully grown fetus becomes a baby, which cannot reproduce.
,
You arguing this point of view makes me feel like you're zoomed in too far for this particular debate. If I'm right, you have decided that any abortion is murder. Please realize that no one wants abortion to be a thing that ever needs to be considered. Also please realize outlawing abortion makes abortion rates go up.
,
If everyone would get on the same page and push long term birth control and sex education as options, the abortion rates would continue to plummet. Over the last ten years, they've gone down 24%. Changing the laws now would undo that progress and this form of murder would come surging back. Literally no one wants that.

Thanks, @cakelover. @parisqeen, can and man rhyme but, in the word "pecan," can rhymes with mon.

Muffins in the US can be sweet, but they'd taste weird with frosting on them. Idk what you'd call unfrosted cupcakes. Miniature cakes? What do you think, @bethorien?

@ilikemoderation You say there are plenty of people demanding partial-birth abortions? I don't agree, and neither do statistics. Can you please clarify? You also just said "it's important to look at the majority; not the voice of the minority." So, to be clear, is there a majority somewhere in the world that demands viable fetuses be aborted?

Wait, Australians really say it like pee-can? Does "can" rhyme with the word "man?" I thought only American hillbillies did that.

Excellent comment, guest: it starts out with a nice "stfu," there's literally no punctuation, and you're either misspelling or deeply misunderstanding basic words throughout, and then another insult is tacked on the end like an afterthought. It was a roller coaster ride from start to finish. I'm...guessing it was a troll? If so, masterfully done. It made me question my own sanity more than one time.
,
Troll score: 8.5/10 which is truly unprecedented. Bravo.

True. How can we help ALL people get over the desire to have abortion legal? So far, here's what doesn't work: 1) abortion being legal (high abortion rates, half the people mad) and 2) abortion being illegal (much higher abortion rates, the other half of people mad).
,
So far, here's what works: 1) access to long term birth control and 2) sex education.
,
If you were in charge and you really, truly wanted people to stop aborting people, what would you do? I'm genuinely curious.

@cakelover asked when two gametes become human. The trick is, there are different answers. I think the definition that most people hate the least is: when the fetus can survive outside the mother. But you'll have people who say zygotes are a human, or blastocysts, or embryos, or fetuses, or only babies. My personal definition of the age two gametes become human falls around 25 years old.

Ikr? It's just because abortion is big in politics right now, so it's bleeding onto meme sites. It probably won't die down for a while :/

Exactly. Some people need to realize abortion rates are the same (or higher) whether or not it's legal. And then realize other people have successfully been phasing out abortion through better education and better access to contraceptives. NO ONE wants abortion be a thing. Once we all get on the same side, we can keep the momentum going so that the whole disaster fades to a minimum.
