That's a weird joke. Most Mormons would just say, "No thanks. I don't drink".
Also, any whiskey worth sharing is going to be expensive. And the Irish I've met wouldn't share good whiskey with a stranger.

That's a little salty for a Mormon. It's not like they hate alcohol, they just don't drink it.

I hear Catholic in that voice, but not Mormon. Not enough gosh, darns, or golly gees.
