Personal experience may vary, but I have to say this isn’t so much the case. You likely won’t pick up many dates at a gym, people tend to go there to work out. They are usually tired, sweaty, dressed down, and focused on their goals. So it’s not a great pick up spot usually. Outside the gym however, beimg in good shape has pretty much never hurt anyone to get a date. You still need to meet people, be able to approach them and ask them. People will still likely want you to be interesting, funny, a good conversation, have your shit at least acceptably together... so by itself no. The gym isn’t a magic ticket to 100% desirability. But the physical abilities, the dedication and discipline of working out can help in dating as can the aesthetic appeal of a “nice” body and the confidence that can come with all that. Clothes, cars, gym, none of it really works. It all can help, but more it’s about the way you feel and the way you act that will or won’t get dates.
