This also reminds me of Superman's story. Superman is both Clark Kent and Superman. But he gets confused about who he really is all the time which is why he only uses glasses as a disguise. He's scared that if he looks too different that he'll forget which one he actually is.

But even he questions which he really is, Clark trying to be better as Superman or Superman pretending to be flawed as Clark. It's the reason its hard to find a really good actor for Superman because they have to be convincing as BOTH Clark and Superman, not one or the other.

It's really simple to see who he really is. Clark Kent doesn't run off to save people. Superman isn't the one putting on a disguise. We call him Superman because underneath Clark's glasses and demeanor there is the Superman suit.

He doesn't rip off his shirt to become Clark. He ripes off his tie to reveal himself as Superman.

Superman is Clark Kent’s mask so he can save the day and still live a normal life as a man from Kansas but Bruce Wayne died with his parents
