It doesn't work. There are gunshot in or around my apartment complex weekly, cops are in the complex usually 2 to 3 times a week, there are apartments fires on my block usually once every 6 months. My rent for a 2 bedroom, 750+/- sqrft apartment is $950 and that isn't including mandatory insurance or electric.

Whew I’m safe for now! Where I’m at it’s like two hundo less than that for a whole 4 bdrm 1 1/2 bath Victorian type house with worker corridors and cops wait 45-30 min to show up after initial call to 911!

It costs me 850 for a very small basement suite for me and my daughter. Thankfully utilities are included... they originally wanted 950 but I talked them down.. might have used my single mom status a bit...

Am I the only one wondering about how you can come to the conclusion to casually go and "check out" when there is gunfire around you at night? I mean, wouldn't it be common sense to either stay where you are or freaking run in the opposit direction?

O think it's the same impulse as slowing down to check out an accident scene. Sometimes morbid curiosity overrules common sense.

Hm. I understand the morbid curiosity in case of an accident (not appreciating it, but hey), but gunfire? The accident people are checking out is over and there's no direct or indirect threat, but again, gunfire? In a country (I just assume they're US citizens) where fatalities by motor vehicles is equal to people being shot to death?
