I always picked the female character, I don't know the reason behind it, It's just that it's what I've been doing it for a long time

I always choose opposite gender. More fun that way

Seriously tho more outfit options is amazing. I always go with the one that has more options that don't look awful.

If a game has a female option with deep customization and I know that the role playing aspects aren't that big a deal, I always choose female because it's easier for me to create a female I want to look at for 20+ hours rather than try to painstakingly create a male character that looks like me.
