Which country is that? Most of the countries do not impose suicide as criminal offence.

Actually, in America, it is illegal to attempt suicide. Not because that would somehow stop people, but it would allow cops to enter someone's home if they suspected someone was a threat to themselves, and hopefully prevent it.

If I remember correctly, suicide used to be a criminal offense in Canada but it was taken off the books in the 1970s.
