I’m calling skewed statistics. Perhaps, quite a few men are homeless, traditional backwoods, and/or aggro-males with little self-control. All these types tend to shave less, I’ve personally noticed. Maybe it’s just coincidence that more men with beards do these things, I guess one kind must be the majority; however, that still doesn’t prove that if a man has a beard, he is more likely to perform heinous actions. This is why I personally never take a survey to heart, whether it’s this, or how women sleep more because they “use their brains more”, or any other fad article, it’s all the same to me—false causalities and assumptions, without a truly, sufficient pool of data to work with.
tl;dr
Don’t take these types of articles at face value.
When I think about it, I do sometimes tend to lie in bed, cheat fate's plans for me and maybe even steal the occasional heart.

I have to say, I didn't really like this study at first but now it's starting to grow on me. https://goo.gl/images/FbMU4U
