In a technical sense- a hero is one who is admired for outstanding achievements or noble qualities. Kindness is a noble virtue- however kindness to ones self is not noble so much. One SHOULD be kind to themselves of course. It’s a good trait and I do not argue that. One should also have agency and pursue personal goals and practice self care. One should not confuse being a good person with codependency or complete selflessness at personal cost. That said I don’t think I consider naming yourself as a personal hero and stating the reason as your ability to serve yourself as virtues to be heroic or noble. Modesty is an individual and cultural value- so modesty asides- naming your self a hero to yourself because you do what you want comes off as very self centered. Personally I do not consider these aspirational virtues of heroics but in balance as part of being a complete human being. I am always wary of a person who would call themselves a hero- let alone their own personal hero.
