She still has to try. I made a comment on a similar post. The essence of it is: When facing a hopeless situation, it's okay to give up. Most will. But a special few will keep fighting, and they might just be the one that matters. Might find one gap in the armor, might hold out just long enough for the big guns to show up. At the very least, they might leave the enemy with a scar to remind them. Memento mori.
