cheetahs don't really go after humans though. There are, literally, zero known instances of a wild cheetah killing a human.

Also cheetahs are fast runners but humans are endurance runners so if you manage to get so far ahead of one your pretty safe

They also don't try to drag prey down, they try to trip it. Also, if you don't run, but turn, face, and scream, the cheetah is going to stop dead in it's tracks. That only works with single cheetahs though. Even with multiple cheetahs they won't view you as prey so you'll probably get away untouched. The only way you don't is if it's a group of adolescents and they are just trying to play and they got rough. Again, the only known human deaths from cheetahs have occurred with captive cheetahs; either from people acting like freaking morons or a small child getting around one. Their paws aren't even like a big cats', they're more like a dog's claws as they need them for traction when they're darting around.
