I imagine if Aragorn and them had just approached the orcs from a place of understanding it would have been much more tolerable watching them torture the rest of the fellowship to death and burn their homelands to the ground
actually, isnt the origin story of the orcs about how people can corrupt even the most beutiful things? since the orcs are just elvs, which are regarded as being the fairest of all creatures, that were turned into orcs.
it's almost like the writer of the books understood that it was possible to put a moral that needed to be there in his books instead of it just being, "stop discrimination the bad guys."
