Even us pharmacists/pharmacy techs have trouble reading scripts sometimes. Reading a script with messy handwriting is mostly process of elimination. There are only so many drug names and sets of directions, so its relatively easy to narrow down what they were trying to write. Also, most of the time the directions are written in sig codes (essentially abbreviated latin), so if you don't know them it just looks like gibberish. As for the sign in the pic, I can only make out "________ or ______ now! -signature" the rest is just squiggles as far as I can tell.
